Bitcoin Lab launching soon

Bitcoin Lab, our new on-chain analytics suite, is launching soon: Charts, API and Pulse dashboard. API users should be aware of that V1 will be depreciated soon, but replaced by the much more power API V2.

We are upgrading our analytics services and introducing a new brand.

Next week, we will launch Bitcoin Lab, our new on-chain analytics suite, comprising:

  • Bitcoin Lab Charts — high-quality visualizations of on-chain metrics
  • Bitcoin Lab Pulse — the on-chain status at a glance
  • Bitcoin Lab API — programmatic access to raw on-chain data

Our back-end analytical engine has been fully redesigned and now delivers real-time data as new blocks hit the chain

What happens next

  • January 3: Bitcoin Lab API v2 is officially launched
  • RBN API v1 will remain available until February 14, 2026, to allow time for migration

How should API users prepare?

We strongly recommend that all API users begin testing integrations against API v2 now

We recommend that API users:

  • Visit the API V2  to review documentation and FAQs
  • Familiarize themselves with updated metric naming and labeling conventions
  • Note that existing API V1 tokens can be used with API V2; however, API V2 tokens must be renewed every 90 days
  • Be aware that the old API V1 will remain available at its existing endpoint (api.researchbitcoin.net/v1)

Please note that some metrics will differ significantly from API v1.
API v1 relied on a snapshot-based computation model, whereas API v2 processes every individual transaction on the blockchain.
As a result, some users may need to re-download full historical datasets, particularly for metrics derived from spent outputs.

Further details will be provided at launch.
